Watu Karung Beach Host "Hello Pacitan" International Surfing Championship 16-20 August 2017

Good news for surfing fans, on August 20, 2017 get ready, because there will be an international class surfing championship titled "Hello Pacitan Pro 2017" to be held at Watu Katung Beach Pacitan.

The championship is part of Men's QS1000 Asian Surfing Championships (ASC) tour that will feature some Qualifying series surfers.

Why Watu Karung Beach was chosen as the place of the race? Because this beach has big waves, tall and rolled up to a radius of one kilometer (km) which is believed to be enough to seduce the world's top surfers to perform. And plus the surfers Europe and Australia often dubbed this surfing destination as "The Next Bali in Pacitan". Famous names such as Rizal Tanjung, Marlon Gerber, Pepen Hendrick, Kelly Slater and Rio Waida, stood in line to compete in Pacitan.

According to the Head of Culture Tourism Office of Youth and Sports of Pacitan Regency, Wasi Prayitno, All will compete in male-grade divisions and grade 1 divisions of women. They compete to win the championship to be able to bag 1,000 points for an additional WSL QS in their rankings. Minister of Tourism (Menpar) Arief Yahya also mengapresiasai this sporting event toursm.

And starting next year kemepar will mendrive ten surfing competencies in ten surf destinations in Indonesia. Kemenpar will coordinate together with Word Surf Leauge (WSL), Regional Manager Asia (WSL) and the Indonesian Surfing Wave Association (PSOI). And the regional level will be held in 10 surfing destinations in Indonesia. To the peak it could hold the World Surfing Competency 2019 in Mentawai, West Sumatra.

Well, specifically for Hello Pacitan, the local committee will also hold a Pacitan Geopar Fair. All the excellent products, traditional culinary, as well as local art and culture and also the free run race will be shown. After that on October 6 there will be Focus Group Disscusion in Watu Karung Beach, Pacitan, East Java.
