Plengkung Beach (G-Land) Best Spot Surfing

Plengkung Beach or also called G-Land is one of the surfing tourist attraction located in Alas Purwo National Park, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. If you are a hobby surfing try to try out the waves on this beach. Indeed the beach is located on the eastern tip of Java Island is a paradise for the surfers. Here you can feel the thrill of riding a great waves roll. This beach is known for the beach that has the largest waves in the world. This large choppy beach is produced by a low pressure system originating from the South (Antarctica).

The fierce waves in Plengkung Beach Banyuwangi this makes it entered into the ranks of "The Seven Giant Waves Wonder" as one of the largest waves in the world. Plengkung beach was discovered by the expedition of foreign surfers. In 1972, there were 8 groups of surfers doing an expedition to the G-Land area. Once they arrived, they immediately set up camp to review the feasibility of G-Land beach as a place to surf.

G-Land beach has a wave that is always there all the time throughout the year. In April-August, the waves reach the highest peak of the month. Not surprisingly, G-Land Beach has been made five times as a place of international-scale surfing activities. There are four types of waves in Plengkung Beach is the smallest waves with the term "chikens", then "speedies", and "monkey trees". The biggest waves are called "kongs".
